If you would like to participate in this meeting, you can participate via the following options:
- PARTICIPATE BEFORE THE MEETING by emailing the Gardena Board/Commission/Committee at publiccomment@cityofgardena.org two (2) hours before the meeting starts on the day of the meeting and write "Public Comment" in the subject line.
- ATTEND THE MEETING IN PERSON
PUBLIC COMMENT: The Gardena Board/Commission/Committee will hear from the public on any item on the agenda or any item of interest that is not on the agenda at the following times:
- Agenda Items - At the time the Board/Commission/Committee considers the item or during Public Comment.
- If you wish to address the Gardena Board/Commission/Committee, please complete a “Speaker Request” form and present it to staff. You will be called to the podium by name when it is your turn to address the Board/Commission/Committee. The Board/Commission/Committee cannot legally take action on any item not scheduled on the Agenda. Such items may be referred for administrative action or scheduled on a future Agenda. Members of the public wishing to address the Board/Commission/Committee will be given three (3) minutes to speak.

E. California Association of Youth Commission
The California Association of Youth Commissions (CAYC) – a free statewide network of youth commissions working together to share best practices, establish new youth commissions, and influence state policy. They host a yearly conference, which brings together youth leaders, elected officials, and policy experts in health and education across California to engage in meaningful discussions on pressing policy issues affecting our state’s youth. Last year, we had expert panel discussions, interactive student-led workshops, and breakout sessions. We also hosted the California Attorney General, two U.S. Congressmen, local government officials, and college professors.
8. NEW BUSINESS
A. Generation Connect - BRIDGE Opportunity
A workshop partnering with Generation Connect that trains teens to assist older adults with technology.
B. South Bay Cities Council of Governments Presentation
Presentation will be by the Los Angeles County Sanitation District, who would present on a topic of your choice. Topics include an overview of sanitation districts, wastewater management, energy recovery, solid waste management, and the Puente Hills Landfill closure. The presentation would last approximately 15-30 minutes, depending on your preference and can be either in-person or remote.

The Gardena Youth Commission will adjourn to the next meeting at 6:30pm on December 8, 2025.
