Wednesday, May 6, 2026
The Study Session Meeting Notice and Agenda of the Gardena City Council of the City of Gardena, California was called to order at 6:15 p.m. on May 6, 2026, in the Nakaoka Community Center, 1670 W. 162nd Street, Gardena, California, Mayor Tasha Cerda presiding.
1. ROLL CALL
Present: Mayor Tasha Cerda; Mayor Pro Tem Mark E. Henderson; Council Member Rodney G. Tanaka; Council Member Paulette C. Francis; and Council Member Wanda Love. Other City Officials and Employees present: City Manager Clint Osorio; City Attorney Carmen Vasquez; City Clerk Mina Semenza and Deputy City Clerk Becky Romero. City Treasurer Guy Mato was not present.
2. PRESENTATION
2.A. Fiscal Transparency and Budget Learning Session
A presentation was made by City Manager Clint Osorio, Director of Administrative Services, Ray Beeman, and Director of Transportation and Deputy City Manager, Ernie Crespo.
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON STUDY SESSION
The following people all had questions regarding the budget and came up and spoke at the podium:
Cecil Davis; Myeisha Phillips; Ethan Jones; Victoria Crudup; Brent Schenfisch; Kale Morita; Jeff Fukasawa; and Ashleigh W. McCurchin.
The following people also had questions regarding the budget and asked that their question be read aloud:
Victoria Crudup; Myeisha Phillips; Julia Jones; and Cecil Davis.
Questions and comments were made by Mayor Cerda, Mayor Pro Tem Henderson, and Council Members Tanaka, Francis and Love.
City Manager Osorio, and Director of Administrative Services Beeman answered all questions.
4. ADJOURNMENT
At 8:40 p.m. Mayor Cerda adjourned the Gardena City Council Study Session to the Closed Session portion of the City Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m., and the Regular City Council Meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
